No Script, Joshua Will Swiftly Knock Paul Out - Promoter Hearn Asserts

I've got no real defence for AJ versus Paul. It's insane that it's happening and I feel the critics are right.

However, we just couldn't turn it down. No fighter who is sensible would have said no. Anybody claiming they'd refuse is completely lying outright.

We took a fight that we think is very straightforward, will give AJ an enormous presence in America and among the highest earnings.

The Plan Behind the Fight

Anthony Joshua was set to have a tune-up bout in November in Saudi - an eight-round contest against a guy ranked around 100th in the world heavyweight rankings.

This was a chance to get his hands wrapped by his fresh coaching staff, make the ringwalk and go through the motions. Now, we are doing that exact tune-up but for 50 times more purse.

We have a clear game plan in mind - to stop Jake out asap. After that, we go into normal service resuming next year.

Joshua will box versus a world-class fighter next February and - should things go to plan - he will then fight Tyson Fury.

So there's a method behind this craziness and taking this bout will not harm Joshua's legacy. But a loss against Jake or it even going the distance certainly would.

It would be an absolute disaster and terribly embarrassing.

This Bout Is Definitely Not Scripted

So many people have asked me questioning whether it's fixed. Firstly, we would be investigated by authorities if it was. That would be illegal. This constitutes a professional fight and an officially sanctioned match where people are betting.

And do you think I would allow AJ to have a script involving Jake? A script in which we could lose or even make him look bad? No way.

We are certainly not giving this guy an edge or a chance to say "I told you I was better than AJ" or "I won rounds". This would be devastating for AJ and we're not going to risk that.

Public Pressure for a Early Finish

Then there are those saying if Anthony Joshua does not knock him out in the first round then it is a disgrace.

He's expected to walk through this opponent however, goodness, allow him two to three stanzas just in case. Because how Jake approaches it will reflect on the pace of the finish.

If he gets brave, it will end rapidly. But if he fights defensively and attempting to clinch and jab and move, then he may survive a few rounds.

We will not see AJ charge across the squared circle immediately and start windmilling.

Just like his approach against Francis Ngannou, he will go in there, measure him up and then go in with the heavy artillery.

Jake Paul Has the Ability to Punch Somewhat

I have heard the likes of Roy Jones Jr and Teddy Atlas stating you cannot dismiss Jake out in this fight. Am I really going crazy here Is there something they're seeing that I am missing?

Let us be something clear - Jake is a professional boxer. I believe he's a decent 200-pound fighter - top 60 or 70 in the world.

This is not a guy that has not put on boxing gloves before. He is able to punch a little bit. He's sparring Okolie and top-10 big men.

Putting aside the victory against Mike Tyson, who was well past his prime, Jake did beat Chavez Jr - who may have been a done fighter but was not a complete mug.

Chavez Jr trained for that bout and had been a world champion who went to points against Canelo Alvarez and came close to stopping Martinez late in the fight.

Therefore I actually credit Jake Paul for training hard and demonstrating respect to the craft , and he has done so much for women's boxing with his promotion company.

Yet despite his self-belief, zeal, commitment and enhanced ability, he ought to be being knocked out by Joshua.

Once AJ Lands, It's Over

Jake and his team are hoping for many things. Hoping AJ is underestimating him, hoping AJ is past his best, hoping AJ's inactivity will be a factor, hoping AJ lacks self-belief, hoping AJ's chin isn't what it once was.

But, to their misfortune, AJ is super switched on. He has completed a training camp and he's training like he's fighting Oleksandr Usyk or in a Dubois second fight.

I expect Anthony Joshua to triumph inside two rounds with a brutal knockout.

A shot to Jake to the body and it could break his ribs and he wouldn't be able to rise.

If he hits him clean, he will knock him to sleep. Or the referee.

It is unknown how it could play out however with the way AJ throws punches - with the speed and power - as soon as Jake is hit on the chin, the contest will end.

Then the focus returns to AJ's two goals he aims to accomplish in the remainder he has left in boxing - to face Tyson Fury and to become a three-time heavyweight champion of the world.
