Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
