Fresh Details Come to Light Regarding the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains
Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.
The Discovery
As detailed in an account referencing a family associate, a therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
After gaining access to the house, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Developments
Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Clarifications
The anonymous source challenged several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.
Furthermore pushed back against circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement applies to accounts of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports suggested the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
