Former Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of committing assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
